Front Desk

In front desk, the main character, Mia, moved from China to America. Her and her family were not very wealthy and they had to find work. They got a job at a motel and their boss was not very nice. They meet new friends, “the weekly’s” and they tell them all they need to know and they include the main character Mia to hang out with them. They also have a secret that they are hiding. They are secretly hiding immigrants from China in some of the rooms and they need to keep it from their boss. Along with that Mia is having a hard time at school and is not fitting in very well. This book is a powerful, funny and interesting book.

Reading this book I felt moved. It inspired me to stay strong in hard times even if it feels impossible.
