About Us

BBCAA

BBCAA stands for Books by Chinese American Authors. It is a project funded by the Phi Lambda Charitable Trust Foundation. This project was started by Sofia D because of her love of reading, and belief that books can bridge cultural differences between people. This project aims to create an easily accessible online list of good books by Chinese American authors with accompanying reviews by young readers to promote awareness of the Chinese community and culture for all different reading levels and ages. We always welcome new book recommendations because this is a living project. If you have a book suggestion for us, fill out the form at the bottom of the page! Interested in helping out? You can check the box "I want to be a volunteer" button at the bottom of the page.

Phi Lambda Charitable Trust Foundation

Phi Lambda (PL) was founded as a fraternity by seven Chinese students at Columbia University in New York on March 20, 1919. The purpose of its establishment was to assemble a group of like-minded people to promote fellowship and mutual enlightenment, each in his field of endeavor, and to the best of their ability, to labor for the welfare of the Chinese people. In Chinese, it's called Ren-She 仁社 which means a society that is focused on benevolence. In 2013, Phi Lambda started to accept female membership.  Phi Lambda Charitable Trust (PLCT) is a charitable arm of PLUS. In its efforts to carry out its legacy, the scope of its charitable projects has included significant areas of concern such as disaster relief, education, family support, food banks, medical missions and social equality.  Through its ongoing commitment and endowment, Phi Lambda ensures that the legacy of the original Phi Lambda (仁社) founders continues to flourish for the benefit of future generations.
