Dragonwings

The book is about an 8 year old kid called Moon Shadow who comes to America to work and be with his father who went to America a few months before moon shadow was born. When the Wright brothers made the first airplane (called an aeroplane back then), Windrider dedicated his life to making an aeroplane, since he loved to make kites. And with the help of Moon Shadow, they might be able to be able to fly.

I felt that the book teaches people about Chinese people in 1900, and showed how American people were mean and mocked Chinese. It also showed how people can be kind, as after a very bad earthquake hit, Windrider and Moon Shadow helped the Americans get to safety.
