The Ugly Vegetables

Grace and her mom were planting vegetables in the garden. When they grew they looked ugly because they were green and yellow and weirdly shaped. Everyone else had pretty flowers. Grace was sad that she had ugly vegetables, but her mom made a soup with the vegetables and it was really good. In the end she was happy about the ugly vegetables.

I liked this book because in the end everyone else was interested in the soup, and also wanted to grow ugly vegetables. I also really like the drawings. I learned that even if things don't look great, they still might taste good!
