The main character of this book is Lulu. Her grandpa was drawing a lot of characters on a scroll, and she wanted to do it, too. She drew a lot of characters, and after she drew the character for "door", the door opened. Inside, there was a village, people, and animals, all represented by Chinese characters. Then, a dragon came, so she drew the character of water and river to stop the dragon from breathing fire. But the dragon was actually just really thirsty, so that made it happy. In the end, she drew a rainbow, and she drew a door to leave.

I liked the pictures. I also really liked Lulu's dog, Dumpling. I liked how all the people in the village were Chinese characters. I learned that a long time ago, Chinese people wrote characters on bones.
