Grandpa Grumps

The book is about a little girl named Daisy. Her grandfather, Yeh Yeh, is visiting her family from China for the first time. Daisy is very excited and hoping to have a good time playing with her grandpa. But after grandpa arrived, he didn't seem very happy. Daisy tries to make him smile, but he grumbles. She tried to play with him, made him tea, made him cocoa, but Yeh Yeh just grumbled. Daisy speaks English, and Yeh Yeh doesn't. Yeh Yeh speaks Chinese, but Daisy can not. One day, Daisy found a box of recipes and asked Yeh Yeh to make dishes from it.

Yeh Yeh made a delicious dish with rice (fan in Chinese), and eggs (dan in Chinese) called Dan Chao Fan. I love to eat Dan Chao Fan too, especially the ones with some roast pork or Chinese sausage! The story is very cute. Daisy learns how to talk and share a good time with her Yeh Ye, even though he can not speak English.
