The Fox Wife

The Fox Wife is a story about a fox spirit living in China during the 1900s, named Snow, who seeks revenge for her daughter's death. It also includes Bao, a detective. Snow chases the murderer to Japan with Bao while they uncover common myths and misconceptions about fox spirits.

This book has amazing imagery, and it is cool that we are brought into the world of detectives and get to experience a detective using their talents to identify the murderer. Something I found interesting was that a family Snow worked for had a curse: in exchange for being able to cure ailments, their eldest son would die before the age of 24. This was heartbreaking, as no matter what they do, they cannot escape the curse.
